Simple Dinner & Keeping Promises

Random title, I know.  I promise they somehow relate to each other (at least in my mind).

First things first, the Chobani giveaway ends tonight (Thursday night)t, so make sure you entered!

Today was one of those days where I kept saying over and over, “it’s okay – tomorrow is Friday – hang in there – it’s almost the weekend – then Spring Break is right around the corner.”  It wasn’t a bad day by any means (I mean, how could you possibly have a bad day when you get to teach 13 year old hormonal angelic students all about the difference in who and whom ;)), but it was just a crazy day because of our shortened class schedules, MOUNDS of paperwork, and the fact that the end of the quarter is tomorrow.

Side note:  The reason we had shortened classes this week is because we have had guest speakers all week at school.  The woman that shared her story today completely blew me away (along with everyone else).  Her name is Kristen Anderson, and she reaffirmed that it’s truly amazing what God can do through our lives, even when we try to mess them up by doing our own thing.  If you want to check out her website you can go here, and if you want to see a brief clip of her story, you can watch that here.

Back to the title of this post – the simple dinner.  I thought for a while before Zumba about what to cook tonight, but when I was driving home in the pouring rain, I still had no idea what to make.  I opted to pound out some boneless skinless chicken breasts and cook them in my Le Creuset French oven with a little olive oil, seasoned salt, and freshly ground black pepper.  While they chicken was cooking away, a cut up some zucchini spears and roasted them in the oven.  I told you it was a simple dinner. 🙂

If you didn’t realize, I’m keeping my promise that I made last night of posting current pictures.

After dinner, that sweet tooth kicked in again, and I finally succumbed to the chocolate cravings.  I indulged in a diet hot chocolate mix made with unsweetened almond coconut milk.  It was completely delicious and totally satisfied the monster chocolate craving I had.

Definitely a good way to end the day!

I hope you all have a FABULOUS Friday!  I’ll post the Chobani giveaway winner tomorrow!

What’s your favorite simple dinner?

Chobani Giveaway!!!!!

It’s no secret that I absolutely adore Chobani Greek yogurt.  It is delicious, affordable, and loaded with protein.  What more could you ask for?

The awesome people over at Chobani caught wind of my love of their product and graciously offered to send me a sample pack.  After I finished squealing with glee and jumping up and down at the thought of a whole case of Chobani, I quickly sent them all my info and went outside to wait for the delivery that was coming in about 10-14 days.  🙂

(rocking the clashing blues and Daniel’s FD shirt)

Naturally, I had to open the box immediately.  I tore into that baby like a kid on Christmas morning!  I think this may have actually been better than opening Christmas presents because I knew the contents were 1. delicious 2. healthy 3. in no need of being returned.

They definitely live up to their catch phrase!  Nothing but good waited for me inside this box!

Mmmmm a whole cheese pizza box of Greek yogurt, just for me!

*If you are confused by the above statement, please go watch Home Alone*

But wait…it’s not just for me!  One lucky reader will get her (or his) very own box of Chobani Greek yogurt.  You will receive four six-ounce containers of each of their new flavors.

Apple Cinnamon

Passion Fruit

Chobani Choices

I know that it’s all over the blogosphere, but I can’t help but say it…

I love Chobani Greek yogurt!

I have had all of flavors available at my local Kroger, Target, and WalMart, and I haven’t tried a single one that I didn’t like.  From plain to pineapple, pomegranate to passion fruit, they are all creamy, rich, and delicious.

The new Chobani flavors are some of my favorites at the moment.

First I tried the apple cinnamon.

I love apples, cinnamon, and Greek yogurt, so obviously this was love at first bite.  I cannot wait to make an apple pie smoothie with this!

Next I sampled the passion fruit.

Another winner!  I’ve read and heard that some people don’t like the seeds, but they don’t bother me at all.  It was extremely tropical, and made me want to be back at the beach!

The last of the new flavors to devour was the blood orange.

For some reason, I had the preconceived notion that I wouldn’t like this flavor as much as the others.  Man, was I ever wrong!  I think this one may be my favorite of ALL the Chobani varieties.

All three flavors have 14 grams of protein and range from 140-160 calories.

Right now, you can go the their Facebook page and enter to win free Chobani for a year!!!  If you win but can’t eat all that yogurt, I’ll gladly help you. 🙂

Have you tried the new flavors?  Which one was your favorite?

The opinions expressed are completely my own.  I was not compensated for my review, and I purchased the product myself.
